Emergent’s Gamebryo Casual to Aid in Casual Game Development

by Aiza on August 24th, 2008

gamebryo casualEmergent Game Technologies, a middleware developer for games, just announced a low-cost license of their game engine, Gamebryo, especially targeted for casual game developers.  As spotted in Businesswire.com, the helmed Gamebryo Casual, has the same, powerful production software and design tools used by big budgeted titles.

Emergent’s CEO, Geoffrey Selzer, sees Gamebryo Casual as a way to help the industry expand the casual gaming market beyond its origins.  They’re looking at these games to have the same level graphics, interactivity and gameplay as those big budgeted titles.

Gamebryo Casual includes a customized licensing model based on the specific budgets and timelines of each casual game developer. All genres are eligible except Massively Online Multiplayer games (MMOs).
