Mobile Game-based Ads Have Higher CTR Rate

by Aiza on June 4th, 2008

game jump logoApparently, 10% CTR (or click-through-rate) is a high number when it comes to advertising, according to this article. This was proven by Greystripe, which launched GameJump.com, back in 2006, a site that distributed free, ad-supported mobile games. Since then, consumers downloaded a whopping 65 million copies of their titles.

The mobile gaming platform stated that 10.1 percent clicked on the ads which is far-off than the 1-2% of web ads. Hmm, sounds good to me.

They’re contemplating that this is due to the fact that web-based casual gaming sites’ demographic, mostly made up of older women, is also far more limited than that of the mobile which is 69% of U.S. users. And with data like this, they’re trying to make a wake up call to investors to make that shift from web-based to mobile.

Greystripe also promises a more detailed report on this soon.

That is a truly an impressive number. Maybe it is because there is much less stuff that is blinking for the gamers attention. When playing on the mobile the game fills the complete screen.
